Written by Team Nato at 16:01 13/4-2011

This weekend will see a rreturn to action for Team Nato.

After a succesful start to the season the team currently occupies a position at the bottom of Division 4 and this next week the squad will look to cement there place in the rankings as they look forward to the new Tour the "Race of the Minutemen".

By Friday night the HQ of Team Nato will be nothing more than empty with all 19 riders called up for duty.

Fedor Flerko, the Russian Cobbler of the team will head up the team as they venture to Eastern Europe. Firstly on Saturday in Ukraine as they ride the cobbles of Lviv - Stryi. Here he will be joined by best mate German, Jan Stortebecker, experienced Hungarian Makk Aurel, TT specialist Emilio Alkorta and two further team mates, Ethen Liston and Yaroslav Melicha. Inexcperienced rider Nikolai Sommer will also make the journey as cover.

After the race on Saturday they will then jump on the bus minus Aurel and Alkorta, who will head back to Engalnd while the remaining 5, will travel to Slovakia being joined by Italian Massimo Orlando, to take part in another cobbles race in Poltar on Tuesday.

On Sunday the Sprint team will start there week of two races. They will be travelling out in good spirits with the hope that Dermot Wyeth can get onto the podium. He will hope to battle the heat out in Saudi Arabia with the support of the Polish members of the squad, Ferdynand Ambroziak and Wincenty Malecki. Original squad member Byron Lenderman will be adding his speed to the mix as well as Englishman Lars Cathey. Massimo Orlando will feature before leaving to join the cobblers in Slovakia.

Following this trip tot he Middle East these squad members will travel back home to England to feature in the Flakebridge Street Race. Again Wyeth will lead the team, with Aurel and Alkorta coming in for Cathey and Orlando. Both riders are experts on the technical aspect of riding that are much needed for this race.

Finally the Climbers of the team have not been left out and are being sent out to Salzburg, Austria. Not yet competitive enough to challenge for race victories any top 10 place will be a great achievement. Dino Capecchi will lead a team for the first tim as he prepares fot the Race of Miuntemen tour later in the season. He will be supported by several good inexperienced climbers in Canadian Wesley Upshaw, Eritraen cousins, Raji and Teklit Tesfaye, and new boys Kerwin Sleeth of T&T and Englishman Casper Mershon.

Lets hope this next week will be one of great success to the lads!
